We've all been there...the week full of late night carb binges, yelling at your family, crying every time a Subaru commercial comes on. Then you start your period and gratefully realize that "unhinged carboholic" was just a transient state and not just your personality. According to the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Sevices, 90% (NINETY percent!!) of women experience premenstrual symptoms.
But couldn't our periods come without all the drama? We've been taught since middle school that PMS is just par for the course, but what if all the mood swings, cravings, cramping are actually your body's signal that something is amiss? The National Institute of Health and The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists state that the menstrual cycle reflects a person's overall health status and can be thought of as a “fifth vital sign,” along with blood pressure, body temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate. PMS is the canary in the coal mine. It's not the problem, it's the warning signal.

Hi friends! I'm so glad you're here! I have so much I want to share with you about health, hormones, and motherhood.
But first, I should probably introduce myself.
