In my 20s and early 30s, my health was suffering. At 26, I had a complete hysterectomy, and even after removing what the doctors thought was my problem, I continued to live on antibiotics. I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and
at 32 suffered a severe case of strep throat. It was at that time that I found macrobiotics and organic foods. After 3 weeks of extreme cleansing through macrobiotics, the painful arthritis in my joints was gone. My health improved, my moods improved, my stamina improved, and I felt like I had a new body. I followed the macrobiotic path for another 8 years, when I saw a need for another change in my diet. I will always be grateful for the life lessons I gained about food and its relationship to the body’s health. While macrobiotics helped me find a new path, it left out a crucial ingredient: WATER. Macrobiotics teaches that one drinks when one is thirsty and advocates various green teas as a good liquid.
