Huge thanks to the Kev Bev band for helping to bring this song into existence. “Rise Together” is our new 2026 Tiny Desk Contest entry. The need to protest has been increasing in recent years, stemming from injustices of our nation’s dark history of colonialism, racism, sexism, repression of the LBGTQIA community, nationalism, funding or participation in genocide, and capitalist corruption. The time is now to vote in the primaries on March 3rd, and stand up to save our democracy. Link to full video here on Youtube: https://youtu.be/nWiRyBRD3f8?si=Z_uEWxig3EUSNbbB
Lyrics from the bridge out:
Stand up and Fight, for Equal Human Rights
Who is the terror? Who’s the terrorist?
When the war reporters are laid in the pits?
No one left to cry,
when the whole family dies
Innocence, culture, and songs
Are gone
Men with more money that could ever be spent
Use it to buy the whole government
When the rich get so high
The poor get so low
No health care, no food, no money, no home.
Rise together, ready to resist
Hold in the air, one unified fist
Friends, neighbors, workers and kin
Hauled away, it repeats again.
Overlapping: (Stand up and Fight, for Equal Human Rights)

Song lyrics:
Rise Together
Rise together, ready to resist
Hold in the air, one unified fist
Friends, neighbors, workers and kin
Hauled away, it repeats again.
First one came, laid claim to a land
Put a flag in the ground
with a gun in his hand
Natives people, didn’t understand
The land once sacred and free
Rats they were here, they were here all along
Pied Piper played and they came out strong
Tide it had turned, as it sways back and forth
Since the time before that,
and the time before.
Rise together, ready to resist
Hold in the air, one unified fist
Friends, neighbors, workers and kin
Hauled away, it repeats again.
Nationalist say “immigrants got to go” but
THEY ALL CAME THE SAME WAY LONG AGO
Yearned for the place, opportunity and jobs
Prosperity.. that was built on slavery
Fascist, take control of the news
Dictate the story they want to tell you
the power had been, slipping away
System of checks
has been bought and been paid
Rise together, ready to resist
Hold to the air, one unified fist
Friends, neighbors, workers and kin
Hauled away, it repeats again.
Stand up and Fight, for Equal Human Rights
Who is the terror? Who's the terrorist?

Hauled away, it repeats again.
