The Lineage Release Bath. Basic version. For the q***r Black and diaspora bodies carrying Pride Month sideways this year.

Mercury entered Cancer Sunday night. Venus is already in Cancer. We are in deep water — the kind that holds lineage. In Bamiléké and broader Bantu tradition, water is how the body and the line speak to each other. This bath is one of the oldest ways we tell the inheritance that the editing can stop.

The Code-Switch Audit — a three-step exercise for noticing when, where, and around whom you have been editing yourself this week.

Step 1: Write down three moments you adjusted yourself today.

Step 2: Ask — was that about safety, or habit?

Step 3: Pick one moment this week to let the unedited version speak.

This is one of the tools I use with my q***r clients and my Black and African clients. The editing reflex is not weakness — it is what your nervous system learned to do to keep you safe. And it is also costing you. The work in therapy is helping your body learn that some of the rooms are now safe enough to be in as yourself.
