Your pinky is secretly a third ear 👂🎸
Lorenzo Micheli explains why he rests his pinky sometimes on the guitar top while playing: it’s not just an old-school stability trick, it lets him feel the instrument’s vibrations and fine-tune his dynamics in real time. Lift the pinky, and the guitar suddenly feels more distant.

A beautiful David Rubio, 1984 from his Cambridge period, spruce over Indian rosewood, and not a single crack or repair anywhere on it.

Rubio built the modern English school, and this one tells you why. The basses are regal without ever getting loud, and the trebles up high come out like pearls. There is Bouchet in it and there is Simplicio in it, and somehow both at once.

660mm scale that plays like it isn't, with original engraved Rodgers tuning machines still turning beautifully after forty years.

A closer look: Francisco Simplicio 1929.

Few names in classical guitar carry the reverence of Francisco Simplicio. A devoted heir to Enrique Garcia, the celebrated Catalan luthier of Barcelona, Simplicio brought that tradition to its highest expression. This 1929 example has lived in our own collection for several years, and it remains one of the most remarkable guitars we have ever owned, let alone played.
