On the afternoon of Sunday, June 7th Game Wardens in Rusk County received a call concerning a dead alligator in Striker Creek underneath the FM 839 bridge. Wardens found a 7 foot alligator with a bullet hole on the top of its head behind its eyes. The alligator had been illegally shot and left to waste. The alligator is believed to have been killed between June 3rd and June 7th
