The AvTurf system replaces the natural ground cover at an airport to provide erosion control, reduce debris-causing effects of jet blast, deter birds and animals, stabilize runways, taxiways and infield islands. It also enhances pilots’ visibility on approach, reduces maintenance needs in safety areas, and provides stable areas for emergency response vehicles to drive through and directly to a situation.
