Women in Saxophone 🎷

For a lot of us, we’ve often been one of a few women in the saxophone section. We love collaborating in every setting, but there was something uniquely powerful about sharing the stage with so many incredible musicians and students.

we were also especially excited to build a program featuring music by female identifying composers. It was an honor to bring the work of .saxophone to life.

It was especially meaningful to see multiple generations represented: seasoned performers and students, some as young as 11, stepping onto stage together. that kind of visibility matters, and the energy in the room reflected it.

The Saxophone community is growing in evolving, and we’re grateful to be a part of that momentum right here in Austin.

Thank you to the students who shared the stage, the parents, band directors, and private teachers, who shared their students with us, the musicians who poured themselves into this program, and to everyone who will helped bring it to life.
