I stayed in a role far longer than I should have.

Not because it was fulfilling.
Not because it aligned with my strengths.
But because I was terrified I wouldn’t find anything better.

I couldn’t even articulate what was wrong.

I just knew I didn’t feel challenged…
didn’t feel valued…
and definitely didn’t feel happy.

But I convinced myself:

Maybe it’s just a phase.
Maybe it will get better.
Maybe I should be grateful and stop wanting more.

Here’s the truth I had to face:
It wasn’t going to change.

The longer I stayed, the more I felt myself shrinking—

my confidence,
my sense of who I was and what I could actually do.

What I learned (slowly):
Staying somewhere misaligned takes more from you than leaving ever will.

It drains:

• your drive
• your belief that you’re capable of more
• your clarity around what you actually want
