This was my first time at SXSW. If I had to sum it up in one word, I’d say it was reassuring 🙌🏾

What you see in this dump is a man recovering from a broken heart. Broken by the continuous disappointments of building a dream from scratch. Exhausted from going against the grain. Going against the world. Constantly fighting for the opportunity to do what I love. Fighting for the right just to be myself. Driven by the realization of my purpose but confused as to why the journey has been this difficult. Only a few know the depths of my sacrifice and pain. SXSW came right on time

Last April I invited my friend Quanna to perform on my set at Orange Crush. is a living legend and she earned the right to be there. She was so real about it that she invited me to come out to SXSW with her. You forever have my thanks for what you did. All I needed was that door cracked. I performed on two amazing stages, met sooo many dope people, connected with so many innovative companies, and built my network in meaningful ways. I played my music for A&R’s, label executes, Grammy award winning producers, and DJs. The overall consensus, I have something special that the world needs to hear. Soon my music will be released to a larger audience. The world gone get Clay Hodges fasho.

What you see in this dump is a man who hasn’t given up even though he has every right to. A man who is so driven that he runs towards his fears because he knows that his wildest dreams are also in that direction. What you see is determination, grit, and the faith of a mustard seen. What you see is me, Clay Hodges the man who took on the world for a crazy dream. They told him to stop but he never did. Now it’s all starting to make sense.

I’ve been quiet… but not idle.

The last few weeks have been about alignment, growth, and preparing for the next level. I appreciate , and for the opportunity to release these 3 songs to a bigger audience. Don’t be surprised if you see me accepting a Grammy next year 🏆
