Happy Anniversary to the day I almost lost my life.

13 years ago today I was driving down 1-10 just outside of Tucson with my family. We were on tour on our way to a gig.
Like most road warriors in their 20s I had a lead foot and was doin 90-100 mph.

We had to slow down to 55mph cuz of a safety corridor I wasn't to happy about at the time. As we were exiting said corridor, I let my lead foot take charge once more. We were pickin' up speed when suddenly our right rear tire exploded. I lost complete control of the steering wheel.

It felt as if someone else had taken control of it as we veered off the highway. In that moment I vividly remember calling out to God. About a second later everything went black.

When I came to we were upside down, I called out my wife's name and when she said, "I'm OKAY!" I let out a big sigh of relief. My brother who has in the back seat said he was good too.

I quickly remembered that our friend and bass player at the time , Eric, was napping in the bed of the truck. I got the most gut wrenching feeling in the pit of my stomach.

We were helped out of our vehicle by some good Samaritan road angels, I saw to my complete shock, my buddy Eric standing up. He was tore up and had gnarly road rash but standing upright. Not broken and bloodied like my imagination thought he'd be.

To say I believe in miracles would be a complete understatement. I truly believe we were spared that day for a purpose. I'm still trying to figure out what that purpose is, but I tell ya what.

Since that day I've been dumb faithful about every step I take. I got to move to Austin to get a crack at my dreams and have CHILDREN!! Make an album with some local legends, and play a ton of gigs with my homie.

I ain't done yet neither!!!

God is good y'all. I love y'all lots!

Happy Mother's Day to the Mothers of my life. I've been blessed to have a strong maternal presence in my life. Always guiding me and turning my gaze back to God.
