se to 100 concerts in Austin annually through several distinct concert series, showcasing the world’s greatest classical guitarists along with local and regional talent, and attracting audiences that number in the thousands every year. The most significant expression of our mission, and the greatest allocation of our human and financial resources, lies with the programs and services that comprise ACG Education. Since launching our first guitar class in one high school in 2001, ACG Education has established classical guitar as an entirely new for-credit fine arts course area serving thousands of students in Austin, and even more throughout Texas and beyond. Our approach has proven an especially effective solution for under-resourced schools struggling to provide high-quality arts education to their students. The cornerstone of ACG’s work in education, and the key to our growing global reach, is our support for teachers. In 2004, recognizing the need for a comprehensive method for teaching classical guitar in a classroom setting, ACG Education introduced GuitarCurriculum.com, a complete online curriculum and instructional resource for classroom-based classical guitar education used today by hundreds of teachers around the world. Our team also works directly with teachers each year through 3-day Teacher Training Workshops we host in Austin and other sites around the United States.
