Last week, GivePower’s Solar Water Farm site leads met in Kenya sharing what’s working, what’s needed and what comes next. President Michele Magee joined the team on the ground to strategize how we can continue to increase access to safe, affordable drinking water in East Africa. We can’t wait to see the ideas that come out of this summit to move our mission forward!

A few weeks ago, GivePower team members and partners came together to focus on solar solutions across Latin America.

This work is guided by local teams who understand the needs, strengths and possibilities within the communities they call home. Together, they shared insights and explored new ways to help more people meet their most basic needs. The team also explored innovative approaches to strengthen long-term value to beneficiaries. These included solutions that enhance project longevity and management structures, maximizing the positive impact of every deployment.

These moments of connection and collaboration remind us that some of GivePower's most important work happens before projects ever break ground.

For the second year in a row, WASH is back in classrooms across Kenya. Together with Xylem, our team is visiting 16 schools to educate 14,093 students about WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) practices that help reduce the spread of illness, prevent waterborne diseases and keep students in the classroom.

Safe water is just one piece of the puzzle. Building lifelong healthy habits matters, too, and we’re excited to share more from GivePower’s WASH efforts soon.

Every mother around the world deserves safe, reliable care for her children and herself.

But today, health facilities serve more than 1 billion people with no electricity or reliable power. Without reliable electricity, even basic maternal and neonatal care becomes difficult.

In many clinics, healthcare workers rely on flashlights or cell phones to deliver babies at night. Meanwhile, life-saving equipment can’t be powered when it’s needed most.

Together we're helping to change that. Over the last decade, we’ve brought clean energy to clinics across eight countries, reaching over 236,000 people.
