🐍 Texas Rattlesnake Season Is Here 🐍

With warmer weather and more outdoor adventures, encounters with rattlesnakes become more common across Central Texas. Whether you're hiking, walking trails, exploring greenbelts, or spending time on rural property, it's important to be aware of the risk.

Did you know there are rattlesnake avoidance training programs designed to teach dogs to recognize and avoid snakes? These classes can be a valuable tool for pets that frequently spend time outdoors.

To help reduce your pet's risk:
🐾 Keep dogs on a leash when hiking
🐾 Stay on established trails
🐾 Avoid tall grass, brush piles, and rocky areas
🐾 Be especially cautious during warm mornings and evenings

Signs of a snake bite may include sudden pain, swelling, bruising, weakness, or collapse. If you suspect your pet has been bitten by a snake, seek emergency veterinary care immediately—do not attempt to treat it at home.
