Be careful when selecting plants for your landscape, as some plant species could be toxic to you or your pets.

Lantana is a commonly used landscape plant, but has an invasive variety that is toxic to humans and animals. As many of these plants get hybridized, determining the exact species can be difficult. You may want to avoid Lantana varieties in favor of alternative plants like blue porterweed, passionflower, or gaillardia if you have pets or small children that could ingest any part of the plant.
