Hello from London!

“Embrace the winds of change and let them carry you forward".
I have long believed it’s important to keep our hearts and minds open to what the universe conspires for us. And that moment for me is now.
After 25 years as a professional fashion designer, I am embarking on a new chapter. The decision is a big one for me, as you can imagine, but there was a confluence of things that ultimately led me to this decision.
The universe has been conspiring for me in a different way. I am in a beautiful relationship with the love of my life. I am so very lucky to have someone as loving and supportive as Joe. Part of my plan is to slow down - stop and smell the roses with him and his two beautiful daughters who have welcomed me into their family with open arms.
I am thankful to have contributed in supporting and growing Austin’s fashion industry whether it was producing major fashion shows like Runway to Heaven and Full Tilt, to co-founding TechStyle Global and the Hi Fashion Happy Hour with Samuel Alexander. Both organizations are dedicated to organizing and propelling our local industry with the convergence of fashion and technology.
My involvement in mentoring the next generation of fashion designers through UT and other college fashion intern programs nationwide has been a blessing. These talented young people are the future of fashion and many of my former interns are blazing incredible trails in this industry (you know who you are!). They have enriched my life through our shared experiences and I love them all like they are my own.
Last but not least, I am so very thankful for all of my wonderful clients who have brought so much love and joy into my life which has been the driving force behind my work. I hope through my fashion and friendship, I have done the same.
My wish for the Austin fashion industry is for it to continue to grow and thrive. I hope the City of Austin and others get more behind this industry which contributes to the fabric of Austin’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
You never know where new roads will lead you and ‘never say never’ but for now, I’m enjoying the change and know this was the right decision. To the future!

It’s a wrap! Another Austin Fashion Week a success. Can’t believe it’s been 15 years! Congrats to Matt Swinney 😃

This photo is backstage for the runway shows last night at The Domain. I did capsule collection of 6 designs using some incredible fabrics from Europe - gold foil over SOLSTISS lace, ‘unbound’ moire traders from France, cloqué brocade woven into the most delicate chiffon, and lacquered organza from Italy.

Special thanks to my team for all the hard work and long hours. We did it! John R. Christopher, Roxanne Rohmann, Teya Saadeh, Crystal Handy, Juan Amaya. Thanks also to all the gorgeous models for their positive energy, beauty and professionalism!
