Trend watch: Plaids are making a strong appearance in both fashion and interior design, and I believe they’re here to stay for more than just a season. Plaids have a timeless appeal and offer an easy way to introduce a masculine touch into a space.

My design philosophy centers on balancing masculine and feminine elements so everyone in a home can feel at ease and comfortable.

This plaid from Stout Textiles also reflects my love of green, a color that remains a major trend right now.

Shouldn’t a primary bedroom feel like a luxury hotel suite? I believe it should. It ought to make you a little eager, near the end of a trip, to return home to your own space and your own bed.

On my website, you’ll find a video testimonial from my client along with a look at what this bedroom used to be. Mrs. truly disliked the space and actually preferred sleeping in the guest room. Hearing that it’s now one of their favorite rooms in the house was incredibly rewarding—and with the blackout drapery in place, she and her husband are finally getting great rest.

This view is taken from the stunning primary bathroom. In the next post, I’ll share a glimpse of the beautiful sitting area just off where the king-sized bed is.
