If I asked you what your definition of strength was most would attribute it to the capability of lifting, pulling, or pushing. Motion. When in fact strength can come in many shapes and forms. For a follower or disciple of Christ, stillness and forthright presence in situations that breed uncomfortably in the unknown allow us to either seek escape via distraction OR to stay present in it all and confront the situation.

God asks us to flee from temptations and desires of the heart and to stand firm and present with Him. He offers us company, understanding, and STRENGTH found only in moments of weakness and vulnerability shared with God. It takes strength to be weak enough to show faith, grace, and patience when our hearts scream for worldly comfort can be trying but it is possible thanks to a God that will draw near to us all in the midst of our troubles and help us to walk with Him in faith. Amen.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
