Building Pickleball
Unfortunately I will not chase you. You look good though.
Have fun
5 important lessons I’ve learned from running:
1. Running isn’t only a measure of physicality it’s a measure of the quality of your thoughts.
- what I love about running is how it reinforces the practice of optimistic thinking
- we know that the brain has a negativity bias baked in by evolution, but with intention you can re-direct your attention and mood.
2. You’ll be outside a lot, invest in sun protection: sun screen, sunglasses, long sleeve shirts.
3. Goals aren’t always meant to be achieved on the first attempt. Instead, they serve as a guide towards change. Only until you fully embrace the demands of change, will you achieve them.
4. Key pillars to running development that apply to any runner:
- variability: distance, course, environmental conditions (weather), intensity.
- train under the conditions in which you will perform: elevation, descent, weather.
5. Instead of looking for every reason to stop, look for every reason to continue:
- ever since taking up running, I’ve had plenty of people who dont intentionally run tell me about their running journey. How its caused injuries, they dont find it enjoyable, cant find the time
- if you’re getting injured, find out why. maybe its not because you’re running but because you do it spontaneously and lack a proper training program
- maybe you dont find it enjoyable because you run alone, lack direction, or you have a difficult time being alone with your thoughts.
- you hear people say they dont have time but that’s just easier to say than making time.
