Emotional blunting is reported a common side effect of oral antidepressants, and arguably a feature of how they work.
they take the edge off, keep our pain at a distance, and our other feelings along with it…. (Note the commonly reported sexual dysfunction)
The treatments we offer have been specifically shown in clinical studies to improve ‘anhedonia’ (inability to feel pleasure) which comes with depression and oral antidepressants.
That’s pretty exciting for those of us who’ve accepted this side effect as a standard feature of our lives, and may have forgotten it’s possible to be any other way.
It is possible, and I’m excited to share this with you.
