Why do we celebrate face-in swimming?
Because swimming with the head lifted high above the water (otherwise known as doggy paddling) Is tiring
and inefficient! When the head comes up, the hips and legs tend to drop creating a vertical posture in the water. When the hips and legs drop, the body creates more resistance. More resistance means more effort just to get to the air.
For children, that extra effort can quickly lead to fatigue which compromises their safety.
Learning to swim with the face in the water promotes a more streamlined body position and helps children move farther while using less energy.
That’s not just better swimming...it’s safer, smarter swimming.
