Ultrasonic “acoustic wires” let us steer lightning in mid‑air.

At FAC Research Labs, we’re tracking groundbreaking work where high‑intensity ultrasound sculpts the air so that plasma sparks follow a precise path instead of branching randomly.

Each spark locally heats and thins the air, and the ultrasonic field then herds this low‑density channel along a chosen route—around corners, to specific electrodes, or even between different targets in rapid succession.
