🚨🚨 OUR BIGGEST UPDATE EVER! 🚨🚨
We are about to brew the first-ever beer in space! 🍻 For science! 🧪
We have spent the last week at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral preparing the experiment called MicroBrew-1, and it will be launching to space on NASA’s Crew-11 mission today! 🚀
The experiment has two chambers: one with a sugary malty liquid called wort and another with freeze-dried yeast. When it reaches the International Space Station, an astronaut will turn a crank to activate fermentation in microgravity! 🧑🚀
This is launching in addition to another world-first experiment we have funded on the ISS to grow crops in Martian soil in space! 🌱
We believe this research will advance fermentation techniques across food/beverage production, life support, biomanufacturing, agriculture, and numerous other space industry applications. 🔬
Massive shoutout to Dr. Luis Zea of Jaguar Space who has been key to driving the science efforts behind this mission for the past 2 years. 👨🏽🔬
From day one, the goal of this brewery has been to establish the first brewery on Mars and today is our biggest day yet. But this is just the beginning… ✨
