Pizza did not start as a trend. It started as necessity.

Flatbreads with toppings have existed for thousands of years. Ancient civilizations in Egypt, Greece, and Rome baked simple breads and finished them with oils, herbs, and local ingredients. What we now recognize as pizza took shape in Naples in the 18th century, where working class communities topped flatbread with tomatoes, cheese, and garlic for an affordable, filling meal.

In 1889, the Margherita pizza was created in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy. Tomato, mozzarella, and basil reflected the colors of the Italian flag. From there, pizza traveled with Italian immigrants to cities like New York and Chicago, where regional styles developed and evolved.

Wood fired ovens, thin crusts, deep dish, folded slices, late night orders. Every version traces back to that simple idea: dough, heat, and what you have on hand.
