Not sure you know this, but we created an all-new 8-week speaking program last fall.

It's a live, cohort-based program where women gain the skills + confidence to create and deliver powerful presentations. We tested it out with a cohort of 100 students!

Naturally, we sent a survey to everyone after. "How was it?" we wanted to know.
​
Instead of telling you about the program, we thought we'd let our most recent alums do the talking. So we copy-pasted their raw, candid feedback straight from that survey.

When we asked folks, "What aspects of the program did you really enjoy?" they answered with things like:

💛I loved that we could interact with the coaches and other colleagues weekly. It wasn't just another self-paced course, but we received real feedback and support.
💛The facilitators, the content and the community.
💛I really enjoyed the community and how willing the participants were to help me improve my talk.
💛I loved the connections that I was able to make.
💛The materials were very thorough! Watching the accompanying course before and after the workshop reinforces the lessons. I was able to pause a module, at any time or place I needed, for a greater dive. I love that these materials are available forever!
💛 The communication cadence was honestly best practice and should be written down in a museum somewhere!
💛 I really enjoyed how interactive it was. It was nice to attend the live session that included prompts and breakout sessions.

I really dislike when marketing feels pushy. I mean, who does?

Thing is I *know* we have an awesome program. I know because over 300+ people have gone through Shine and told us. But not only that, Shine alums have secured speaking gigs. We have a Slack channel called and when it lights up (which is often does), it makes my day. Because that mean our program delivers what it says it does: improves your confidence and communication. ​

My philosophy when it comes to marketing is this: the best "marketing" doesn't feel like marketing.​

And so when Ale, Amy and I thought about our upcoming Shine Foundations program, we thought ... well let's interview some of the incredible women who just went through the program. And invite whoever is interested, wants to learn more.
