🌈 Pride History Spotlight: Bayard Rustin 🌈
Today we're honoring Bayard Rustin, a visionary civil rights strategist, activist, and advocate whose work helped shape American history. Best known as a chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington, Rustin played a critical role in the Civil Rights Movement while also living openly as a gay man during a time of widespread discrimination.
Despite facing significant challenges because of his sexual orientation, Rustin remained committed to justice, equality, and nonviolent activism. His leadership and perseverance continue to inspire movements for civil rights and LGBTQ+ equality today.
