How do we keep from drifting in our faith? The recipients of Hebrews were facing that very challenge. Surrounded by familiar religious traditions and tempted to take their eyes off Christ, they were slowly drifting through neglect rather than outright rebellion. In Hebrews 2:1-4, the author warns believers to pay careful attention to the gospel they have received, reminding them of the greatness of Christ, the cost of salvation, and the overwhelming testimony God has given concerning His Son.
Because Christ has accomplished such a great salvation for us and God has confirmed it, we must keep Him at the center of our faith to keep our spiritual walk on track.
