This one today got a little tricky. We had a call today on a leaking water service in the front yard. After digging up where the leak was coming up, to about 4’ away, we finally found the leak. It was a 3/4” service right on top of the sewer about 3’ down. It’s thin wall pipe, which is notorious for springing leaks. The pipe was installed the same time as the sewer and had one of the craziest bends we have ever seen. We repaired this one, as we do many, with Pex pipe. It gives us the flexibility we need to correct these types of scenarios.
The life of a plumber isn’t always easy. Often times, it’s far from that. We ran into a lot of that today, with this just being one example.

We got a call about a shower drain leaking. Another plumbing company had been there before us and said they fixed the problem but, the customer was still getting water on the ceiling and floor at the bottom of the wall stayed wet.
We hate to cut Sheetrock but sometimes you have to do the necessary things to be able to get the job done the correct way.
There was a 90 degree turn coming through the top plate of the wall that has a stress break in it and the water was running down the wall soaking the floor. We cut out the bad section and replaced it while ensuring the stress was taken off of that fitting so it doesn’t happen again.
Sometimes surgery leaves a bad scar but the results are so much better than before the procedure.
