I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I learned from Jack Welch during my MBA program six years ago, and how I’ve applied those lessons to running and growing Blue Summit over the years.

One concept that keeps coming back to me is the importance of core values. Jack always emphasized that values should be what drives every business decision - from who you hire (or fire), to your processes, your design language, and the products and services you provide.

Using what I learned then, combined with my own research and lived experiences throughout my career, I established an operating philosophy for Blue Summit built on three core principles:

🔹 Customer Focus - To us, everyone is a customer. Whether you are a coworker, a stakeholder, an employee, or a student, you are the customer. It’s a service-oriented mindset that puts clear communication and attention to your needs at the forefront of everything we do.

🔹 Simplicity - We strive to eliminate unnecessary complexity and friction wherever we can. Our goal is to be the easiest partner our customers have ever done business with, making every experience straightforward and enjoyable.

🔹 Speed - We remain agile. In a fast-paced world, we need move quickly to meet customer needs, enabling strong competitive advantages that ensure our customers stay ahead of the competition.

Through these principles, we don't just aim for superior customer satisfaction scores - we aim for a culture of excellence that helps people solve problems. Because when you solve problems, you add value. And when you add value, you build meaningful relationships that last.

We’re not perfect. But if there is one thing I’m proud of, it’s that we’ve stuck to these principles and continue to work toward being better every day.
