Today, we honor Flag Day with a view from Magnolia Cemetery, where the American flag rises above a memorial connected to the Spanish-American War era.
The flag is more than a symbol. It represents service, sacrifice, history, and the generations of Americans whose stories are preserved in places like Magnolia Cemetery. As it flies above this historic ground, it reminds us to reflect not only on our nation’s ideals, but also on the people and places that carry those ideals forward.
Happy Flag Day from Augusta Recreation and Parks.
