Happy Independence Day!
On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, setting forth a bold vision for self-government and civic participation. That vision continues today through the freedoms protected by the First Amendment: speech, religion, press, assembly and petition.
Celebrate with us this morning at the First Amendment Museum’s Fourth of July Lawn Party! Join us at 10AM at the Gannett House, 184 State Street in Augusta, as we watch the parade and enjoy activities for all ages. We hope to see you there!
