This week, Scouts students enjoyed a meaningful discussion about their families! They shared who lives in their homes—including pets—and even talked about who they WISH could live with them. This sparked thoughtful conversations, creativity, and lots of imaginative ideas among classmates.

After discussion, students created their very own houses using popsicle sticks glued onto paper. Once the glue dried, they drew their family members inside their houses, wrote their names, and carefully cut around the popsicle sticks.

Why this activity was so beneficial:
• Encouraged language development and self-expression through group discussion
• Built social-emotional skills by helping children share about their families and listen to others
• Strengthened fine motor skills through gluing, drawing, and cutting
• Supported name recognition and early writing skills
• Fostered creativity and imagination
• Helped build a sense of belonging and community in our classroom

The finished houses are now proudly displayed on the classroom wall next to family photos—a beautiful reminder that every family is unique and special! ❤️
