💜Had an amazing time last Thursday at the Georgia State Capitol as an advocate for Alzheimer’s Awareness Day!
Advocated for Alzheimer’s awareness at the Capitol with the Alzheimer’s Association®! Urged legislators to allocate $450,000 for a brain health awareness campaign and support House Bill 1123 protecting vulnerable adults with dementia who may be susceptible to exploitation, neglect and abuse.
HB1123 calls for statewide collaboration of law enforcement, victim’s services and other agencies to ensure that victims and their families will have access to the support they need and the coordination that will expedite their receipt of that support. That coordination will also help ensure these vulnerable Georgians are not victims of recurring abuse.
