Congratulations to Matt Breen on celebrating 30 years with KTIV News 4!

Matt joined KTIV in 1996 as a reporter and has spent the past three decades serving Siouxland viewers in a variety of roles, including weather, morning anchor, evening anchor, and now Managing Editor and Evening Anchor. His commitment to local journalism and the communities KTIV serves has made a lasting impact across the region.

KTIV has also played a special role in Matt's personal life. He met his wife, KTIV Vice President and General Manager Bridget Breen, while working together in the newsroom. Today, the family's connection to the station continues, with two of their three children also building careers at KTIV.

Thank you, Matt, for 30 years of dedication, leadership, and service to KTIV, Gray Media, and the viewers of Siouxland. Congratulations on this remarkable milestone!

Earlier this month, the Washington Media Scholars Foundation celebrated the winners of its 17th annual Media Scholars Case Competition, recognizing outstanding college students for their strategic thinking, creativity, and passion for the media business.

Congratulations to first-place winners Tess Meggison of Drake University and Campbell Valline of Iowa State University, as well as second-place recipients Michelle Ifediba and Juliette Diaz Rackohn of the University of California, Berkeley.

The awards luncheon was followed by a Media Mixer at Nationals Park, where the 12 finalist teams connected with more than 300 media industry professionals, creating valuable opportunities for mentorship, networking, and career development.

Gray Media is proud to serve as a presenting sponsor of the Washington Media Scholars Foundation and to support its mission of preparing future media and communications leaders. We are also grateful for the leadership of Gray Media Vice President of Political Sales Mike Jones, who serves as Chairperson of the Foundation's Advisory Committee.

“The caliber of students that come through WMSF is something you don’t often see at this stage of a career,” said Jones. “These aren’t students anymore, really. They’re colleagues.”

Congratulations to all of the finalists and scholarship recipients. The future of our industry is bright.

Earlier this month, the team at 6 News WOWT helped raise nearly $60,000 worth of food and donations through its annual Stuff the Truck Food Drive, benefiting food pantries and organizations serving families across the Omaha metro area.

Despite a day of thunderstorms, viewers, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners showed up in force to support the effort. Donations will help organizations including the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Omaha, Care Corps' LifeHouse in Fremont, Nebraska, and Micah House in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

A special thank you to Methodist Health System, Two Men and a Truck, and the many volunteers who helped make the event a success.

We're proud of the WOWT team for once again putting community first and making a meaningful difference for neighbors in need.
