Days before I take office, a bad deal to power data centers is being voted on today by the Georgia Public Service Commission. This deal is expected to add substantial cost and risk to residential ratepayers, who have already seen their power bills increase by $700 per year on average. We are ignoring low-cost, clean solutions and instead overbuilding expensive resources. We are taking out a 45 year mortgage for a tenant who may not stick around to pay it off.
