What does it mean to sustain a community? πŸ› οΈ

It means showing up not just once, but every single month. The RTA Sustainers Circle is a dedicated group of monthly donors who provide the steady, predictable funding we need to plan repairs, purchase materials, and keep Atlanta homeowners safe and warm all year round.

Becoming a sustainer means building a foundation for lasting change. Ready to join us?

From Desolate Lot to Thriving Oasis: Cultivating Change in Adamsville 🌱

In 2023, the site adjacent to the Adamsville Senior Recreation Center was an abandoned, overgrown school lot. Today, it is the Adamsville Fain Community Garden (AFG)β€”a vibrant symbol of resilience, health, and neighborly camaraderie.

As a known food desert, the Adamsville community faced significant hurdles in accessing fresh produce. Through a powerful partnership between Rebuilding Together Atlanta (RTA), Totalis (and its subsidiaries BlueSky Risk/Quadscore), and local leaders, we’ve turned that challenge into an opportunity for growth.

🌻 More Than Just Food

The AFG isn't just about fruits and vegetables; it’s about growing community:

Access - Providing thousands of residents with fresh, organic produce.

Education - Serving as a hands-on urban agriculture lab for the nearby STEAM Academy and hosting annual summer camps.

Connection - A gathering place where "Soil Sisters and Brothers" are born, and strangers become family over shared harvests.

Dignity - Local seniors walk to the gardens weekly to harvest their own food, fostering independence and health.

πŸ—οΈ The Power of Partnership

Since 2022, Totalis and its team have been instrumental in this movement.

Their commitment goes beyond financial support:

600+ hours of volunteer service.

$20,000 in labor value.

$40,000 in direct project funding.

43 garden beds built to revitalize the neighborhood and support our holistic mission of safe, healthy, and thriving communities.

πŸ’š A Heartfelt Thank You

To the volunteers who joined us: Thank you. Your sweat equity is transforming this land into a source of hope and dignity.

We aren't stopping here. With plans to expand capacity and distribution, the Adamsville Garden Coalition is proving that when we cultivate the land together, we grow a stronger future for all of Atlanta.
