We are teaming up to throw a FREE Cosplay and Materials Swap this Spring!
No ticketed event barrier to entry! We are utilizing one of the best free resources: The Library!
We believe in making cosplay and the costume hobby as accessible as possible. We also believe in making the hobby as planet-friendly as possible by promoting re-use and re-cycle via a community swap event!
When: May 17, 2026 from 1pm-2pm
Where: Sam Gary Library
2961 Roslyn St, Denver, CO 80238
What to Bring:
-Bags or containers to take things home in. A few bags will be available on site but only while supplies last.
-Completed costume items that still have life in them, wigs, patterns, fabric, and any other extra/left over/no longer inspiring cosplay crafting materials!
Bringing items to swap is NOT required to participate. There will also be no sales of costumes or materials during this event.
Materials donated by participants will be sorted on site and while we hope that nothing will be left behind because everything found new homes, any leftover materials will be sorted into donations to other second-hand material/clothing centers.
While this hobby is full of non-conventional materials, please use your best judgment and please do not bring actual, literal trash. Thank you!

You can sign up for your own free Denver Public Library Card while on site! Just make sure sure to bring official picture ID and current proof of CO address!
The Sam Gary branch of the DPL has a makerspace you can take a peak at while visiting!

☆ 𝙍𝙚𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚. 💙⬇️

I want to highlight Black Visions- a MN social justice organization and mutual aid project centering Black, Q***r and Trans people in their mission to organize powerful Black communities and dismantle systems of violence.

They have roots in creating community spaces where resources can be shared, education passed, and where people can gather safely to support each other and the Black Visions MN mission.

Currently they have pooled efforts into providing information and resources regarding 🧊 activity in Minneapolis, making sure the Somali residents knows their rights and can access resources, awareness regarding the Black voices arrested for their participation in journalism and mutual aid, as well as lawyer and detainee information.
