Thank you Times-Georgian for telling the whole story. Unfortunate turn of events for many communities and Georgians who were hoping this decision would promote broadband deployment. It does not.
PSC authorizes EMCs to charge $1 for utility pole rentals, but increases rate for telecom providers in existing coverage areas The state Public Service Commission on Tuesday allowed EMCs to charge telecom providers $1 per year for new utility pole attachments in areas that are not served by broadband.
