What do you say when your daughter in the matter of minutes becomes physically unrecognizable to you?

How do you be when the person you love the most in the world face, ears, and hands third degree burned and the doctors are telling you there's a good possibility she may have to have ear replacements or skin grafts? How do you respond as a parent when your child's eyes are covered in so much soot from the fire, you can see the impact, but she cannot?

Who do you call,

When you're facing one of the most difficult trials in life and don't have a resource readily available in your phone book!!!!!?

Where do you go for support when you're committed to your child getting the best hospital care money can provide, yet the hospital bills are racking up beyond your ability to pay?

****************************************************************
Imagining what my parents went through nursing me back to health after my dance with fire brings chills up my spine. For a long time, I didn't acknowledge how difficult it must've been for them, especially during the first few months of healing.

I know trauma. If you're on this page it's a good chance you do too. I invite you to acknowledge and thank the people who have and are supporting you back to health.

When something traumatic transpires in your life how do you successfully share the impact of what you're experiencing emotionally a) your family, b) your closest friends, c) people you're surrounded by in your everyday life, without feeling disempowered and or being viewed as a person with a victim mentality?

Truthfully, the answer is complex.

What I can offer you is hope.

NO matter what your life path has been there's a set of empowering actions that can facilitate your healing.

Here's three that made a tremendous difference for me.

1. Locate a community where you feel safe and can share your emotional pains without making you feel small

The conscious mind is wired to store memories. You cannot affirm or rationalize your memories away. Venting is the process by which your conscious mind purges the past.

2. Set yourself up to WIN!

Depending on what your journey it could require for you to participate in multiple healing methods simultaneously to experience a significant breakthrough

3. Create Community

Transformation doesn't happen in a bubble. A positive community will reveal blind spots your right now self is unable to identify. Many people fight against this out of fear of being judged. If you can set your fears to the side community will be your access to achieving full-spectrum healing.
