Our next new midshipman spotlight brings us to MIDN 4/C Skaggs! MIDN Skaggs is currently studying Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech and wants to commission as a SWO Nuke Officer. He wants to be in the Navy to be part of something bigger than himself and serve others. Outside of NROTC, he enjoys playing basketball, reading his Bible, and being involved in his fraternity! Welcome to the Battalion, MIDN Skaggs!

Yesterday, midshipmen from the Georgia Tech and Morehouse NROTC Battalions, along with cadets from Georgia Tech Air Force ROTC attended the 2026 Joint Awards Ceremony! This ceremony celebrates excellence in leadership, academics, and character demonstrated by midshipmen and cadets within these units. Congratulations to all award recipients, and thank you to all presenters and individuals who made this event possible!

Our next new midshipman spotlight brings us to MIDN 4/C Roth! MIDN Roth is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech and eventually wants to commission as a SWO Nuke Officer. In the Navy, he wants to gain leadership experience and serve his country by helping others. Outside of NROTC, he enjoys lifting, traveling, and learning languages! Welcome to the Battalion, MIDN Roth!

Our next new midshipman spotlight brings us to MIDN 4/C Macias! MIDN Macias is studying Finance at Georgia State University and eventually wants to commission as a Naval Aviator. He wants to be a naval officer to follow in the footsteps of relatives who have served before him, lead others, and join something larger than himself. Outside of NROTC, MIDN Macias enjoys card games, swimming, snowboarding and spending time with friends and family. Hooyah, MIDN Macias!

Congratulations to MIDN 1/C Flores who participated in early ship selection and will be heading to the fleet aboard the USS Essex (LHD-2) out of San Diego! From the unit to the fleet, MIDN Flores’ future is very bright, and we are so proud of him. Hooyah, MIDN Flores!
