Just when you think that nothing could get worse than the recent death of Tyre Nichols, I want to let you know about the murder of Anthony Lowe Jr. by police in Huntington Park, California. Anthony was a 36 year old father of 2. He was a double amputee who lost both of his legs after a previous attack on him by police in Texas. When the Huntington Park, California came up to him, Anthony hopped out of his wheelchair and began to run away on the stumps of his legs. He had a knife in his hands, but he was running away on the stumps of his legs. The police officers shot him 8 times killing him with the claim that they feared for their lives. They thought he would throw the knife at him despite being at a distance where there was no threat of a knife hitting them. They simply murdered this man. So, in his short 36 years of life, police were responsible for him losing both of his legs and they followed that up by killing him. Our deepest condolences go out to Anthony’s kids, and his family. We demand that the officers that killed this man be fired, charged, and arrested for this blatant murder. If you are so afraid of a double amputee that you have to shoot him 8 times while he is running away on the stumps of his legs, you should be nowhere near policing.

Sometime between Thursday, July 14th and Friday, July 15th, Brianna Grier came home and was having a schizophrenic episode. Her mom called the Hancock County Sherriff’s Office for help. Two deputies arrived between 12 and 1 a.m. and put Brianna in handcuffs and in the back of the deputy’s car. Somehow during the drive from her house to the sheriff’s office, the police now claim that Brianna somehow kicked her way out of the deputy’s cruiser and fell out. She suffered two fractures in her skull, and was hospitalized. Unfortunately, after 4 days, she died from the injuries that she suffered.
The question that we have is how someone is able to open a door that is always locked from the inside? What police cars allow the doors to be opened from the inside? The windows of the police car weren’t broken or kicked out. The police really need to explain how a door got open in a moving vehicle when that door is locked from the inside and not supposed to be open at all without the help of an officer.
We need answers.
Remember the story of Freddie Gray, 7 years ago when he was killed by Baltimore police while riding in the back of a police van? Today, we bring you the story of Randy Cox. On June 19th, (Juneteenth), Randy Cox was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and was being transported in a police van to New Haven, Ct. Police headquarters. Just like in the Freddie Gray, case, Randy Cox was handcuffed in the back of the van with no seat belts or restraints. While being transported, the officer driving the van stopped abruptly to avoid a crash according to him. That abrupt stop caused Mr. Cox to slide head first into the back wall of the van. Instead of stopping immediately, the officer kept on driving for several minutes. Eventually, the officer did pull over and call for an ambulance. Rather than waiting for the ambulance, he told them to meet them at the precinct. From there they dragged Mr. Cox from the van rather than waiting for the ambulance to get there. They mocked him, and refused to believe that he was injured at first. Randy Cox is now on a respirator, feeding tubes, and has large paralysis from the chest down. The officers treatment of this man whose neck they just broke shows how they truly felt about their fellow human being. Everybody involved in this horrific case needs to be held accountable. Prayers go out to the Cox family as they will be dealing with a long recovery process.
