Every day, 13 people lose their lives waiting for a kidney that never comes. The End the Wait Foundation exists to change that. Through education, advocacy, community partnerships, and the upcoming End the Wait feature film, we're building a national movement to increase living kidney donation and give more families the gift of a second chance.

Two fierce fighters, one shared goal: a second chance at life. đź’š
Kristy is a 44-year-old mom whose kidney function has dropped to critical levels following complications from diabetes and open-heart surgery. Her 13-year-old daughter, Abby, was born with stage 3 kidney failure, an irregularly shaped single kidney, and faces additional challenges with autism and VACTERL syndrome.
With over 100,000 people currently on the national transplant waiting list, this mother-daughter duo is searching for their perfect living kidney matches. Because their family members are unable to donate due to medical reasons, they are relying on the kindness of the community to help share their story. Kristy hopes to receive a transplant first—not only to be healthy for her daughter, but to show Abby that she, too, can survive this battle.

At the Transplant Games, Randy caught up with Barbara from Goose Creek, South Carolina. Even though she didn’t personally know anyone affected by kidney disease, she stepped up to donate because she understood the incredible need—proving that living donation is safe, possible, and saves lives. In her own words: "If I had 10 kidneys, I would give nine."
Every story shared at these games shows that donors can continue to live vibrant, healthy, and active lives. Together, we are working to release a nationwide feature film about this critical need, aiming to get this message in front of 100 million people. If just one out of a thousand people say yes, we can completely eliminate the wait list.
