Pushing through the Ugly Phase of a piece can be challenging. I started this piece and at some point didn’t even want to look at it anymore. Not it’s my favorite of the set. I’ve been selected to compete for The People’s Artist — a national competition presented by Johnny Depp benefiting The Art of Elysium. The winner takes home $25,000, a feature in Artforum Magazine, and a showcase in Los Angeles.
