I was thrilled with our event last night with Hakeem Jeffries and Maxine Waters in support of the Nikema Williams House Victory fund. We are only 5 seats away from flipping Congress back to democratic control! Let’s get it done!
I definitely teared up at the portrait unveiling today for my longtime friend and client Supreme Court Justice Robert Benham. First African-American elected statewide in Georgia post-reconstruction, first AA Court of Appeals Judge, first AA on the Supreme Court. His ancestors were brought here as enslaved people in 1845. His parents both had a fourth grade educations and went on to become leaders in their community in Cartersville. I’m blessed to have fundraised for three of his statewide campaigns, he’s a living legend, and one of the finest human beings I know. , Jr. did an excellent job on the portrait committee and unveiling today
