PRESS RELEASE: Great news! Dr. Jo Chitlik of Emory University's Center for the Study of Law and Religion is thrilled to announce a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Global Learning Online (GLO) and Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) in Pakistan.
This exciting academic collaboration, finalized on July 7, 2025, will expand knowledge of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province and document its rich history through joint research.
"We are honored to work alongside our Pakistani counterparts," said Dr. Chitlik. "Our goal is to contribute to higher education in Pakistan and share its unique ADR history with the global legal community."

This MOU builds on the U.S. Department of State's 2024 Fulbright ADR Pilot Program for Pakistan.

On March 12, 2025, I'll be participating in a Day of Advocacy at the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C.! I'll be meeting with U.S. Senators and Congressmen to advocate for continued support of the Fulbright Program, ensuring its future for generations to come.

Pakistan's 2017 legislation aims to promote gender inclusivity in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) by mandating the inclusion of female attorneys as mediators in cases involving women. While this progressive step is commendable, challenges remain in its implementation. Despite the legal framework, the actual practice of including female mediators has been slow to catch up, which could hinder current efforts to make ADR accessible to all Pakistani citizens, particularly women.

GLO is honored to announce Dr. Jo D. Chitlik, U.S. Department of State, Fulbright Specialist addition to Emory University's Center for Law & Religion, as a Senior Fellow.
Dr. Chitlik's main focus will be expanding her cultural diplomacy work between Pakistan and the United States, through Emory's CSLR.
