The Georgia Equality team is kicking off Pride Month this weekend across the state! Yesterday we joined the vigil for healthcare and HIV funding, and today we’re at Athens Pride and the concert.
Thanks to all who have come out to join us so far! We can’t wait to see everyone at a pride event near you! 🌈🫶🏼

✨ MEET THE HONOREES ✨
Georgia Equality is proud to announce our honorees for Evening for Equality! Leading up the the event on June 27, we will be highlighting each honoree and celebrating their invaluable contributions to Georgia's LGBTQ+ community.
First up is Representative Park Cannon receiving the Phillip Rush Community Builder Award. As a Representative for the 58th House District, Rep. Cannon has devoted her legislative work to protecting Georgia’s most vulnerable, including LGBTQ+ Georgians. Not only has Rep. Cannon served her constituents, but Cannon has also prioritized empowering the community– from offering leadership and advocacy programs, to mentoring transgender and gender non-conforming advocates, to acting as a guide to all those unfamiliar with state politics.
While her time in the State Capitol may be coming to an end, we know that Rep. Cannon's legacy will continue, as will her commitment to serving the community.

NEWS: The Board of Directors of Georgia Equality is proud to announce its first endorsement for the upcoming general election in November: Keisha Lance Bottoms for Governor of Georgia
"At a time when LGBTQ+ people, especially trans Georgians and LGBTQ+ young people, are being targeted for political gain, I believe Georgia needs leadership that will not waffle, disappear, or go silent when it matters most. I will be a battle-tested Governor who leads with courage and compassion, who listens to the community, and who uses the power of government to expand opportunity, not restrict it," said Bottoms.
It's time to elect a pro-equality champion to the highest office in our state!
