AIA Atlanta

The Georgia Tech John Lewis Student Center, designed by Cooper Carry - The Center for Connective Architecture and Workshop Architects, Inc., transformed an underused, introverted student center into four interconnected buildings anchored by an active pedestrian thoroughfare.

Winning a 2025 Honor Award for Educational & Research Facilities, the center features new spaces, including a flexible Exhibition Hall with eleven meeting rooms, a makerspace for the university's pottery program, and a three-story addition with theaters, dining, and student lounges.

The design centers equity through reflection rooms and multicultural lounges and pairs locally sourced materials with efficient systems to create a building that glows outward at night as a campus beacon.
