ay Metro Atlanta’s population is nearing 5 Million, Atlanta is the busiest airport in the world, we’re still the home of Coke, Delta, Home Depot, CNN as well as UPS, Porsche and now Mercedes. In 1990 Tim Lundy was a catering director who had a vision for bringing together the best of the special events industry in a way that recognized achievements and provided a national stage to showcase the event creation talent of the region. In 1990, the first annual Allie Awards were held at the then Penta Hotel, recently the Malia and soon to be Crowne Plaza on West Peachtree. Today Atlanta is a true international city, we are the new Hollywood, and the Ally Awards the pride of the industry. In 2015, we will again recognize the creativity, accomplishments and influence of the Greater Atlanta Special Events Industry, as we also reflect on how far we’ve come since 1990.
