“Don’t worry Lucy, our families are out there. It will be our turn soon!”That’s what we imagine Kelly is whispering to Lucy in this sweet picture captured by their foster mom.
Kelly (white/brown) and Lucy (blk) are two of our “long-timers”, having joined our RMG family in 2024. Both girls are good with other dogs, but would also probably thrive as only fur children - they just love their person! More than anything, they just want a chance at their very own families to love as they have seen so many of their foster friends get!

YEAH, YEAH …. you might be sick of reading about pets and fireworks - but seriously from those have seen first hand what can happen - PLEASE take a sec and read or share this !
It’s the most hated day of the year in rescue with January 1st in second. There’s no way to be more blunt than to say FIREWORKS and pets - geez any animal don’t mix! More dogs and cats are lost on this day than any- don’t be cocky and say “ oh my dog or cat or bird is chill - nothing bothers them….” Fireworks can also hurt people with ptsd - veterans … the list is too big to be careless!
Keep your pets inside - walk them early then let them hunker down. Heavenly Hound Bars at local Hollywood Feed stores helps our foster dogs - but assuring them all will be ok and maybe having the tv a little louder - but please, please stop to care.

**** UPDATE **** after a great night of sleep, she walked better but still very slow outside and even floated a bit … did a few happy sighs and now back to sleep !!! Check out new pics added below
Well, this definitely wasn’t on our holiday weekend bingo card….
Earlier this afternoon, one of our amazing fosters alerted us to a poor 18 yr old senior girl at Lifeline in Dekalb county. Lindsy is our Go-To fospice mom and so so wanted to take in this sad senior girl, but she’s about to go out of town for a week. That didn’t stop her from networking though and amazingly a kind woman, Jenny, in Senoia offered to help. Unfortunately, that’s just a bit too far away from us and, more importantly, from our vet for us to be able to take her up on that offer. But there was just no way we could leave her in the shelter a minute longer, so she’s resting comfortably with MB temporarily. We are also working on finding a place for the 2 other dogs she came in with, so make sure to stay tuned for updates on them as well!
So now we are on the hunt for a foster willing to open their hearts and home to a very special senior girl - someone in the Metro Atlanta area so that we can easily facilitate her care with our vet. And because of the chance she was exposed to an upper respiratory infection we are looking for a foster who either doesn’t have other dogs in the home or has the space and ability to quarantine.
We also would love to be able to raise some funds to care for her. We won’t have a true picture of her health until we can get her into the vet after the holiday, but her age alone means she will be a Fospice dog - living out however much time she has left with us. With adoptions and donations being very slow this year, we hadn’t been planning on taking on any more fospice cases but we just couldn’t turn our backs on this one! So if you’re able to, please consider a donation to help with her care. And if you’re interested in fostering, please email [email protected] or fill out a foster application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org
Thanks so so much to all who continue to support us and please share so we can make sure this sweet girl has the very best rest of her life!

Say ‘Hello’ to Remy!
Adorable little Remy is a 6-7 yrs old Maltese who is just as sweet as he is adorable! He’s great with other dogs and while he has never lived with cats he has seen them out and about and had no reaction - he’s such a chill little guy that he’d likely be just fine with them. We don’t know a ton about his background really but we know he’s been loved for sure. You can just tell from how sweet he is. Remy is great on leash and would love to find a person who will take him lots of places. At only 9 lbs he is the perfect size for both apartment life and also to be your new favorite travel companion!
