July is Fragile X Syndrome Awareness Month
Fragile X syndrome is the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability and a known genetic cause of autism. Caused by a change in the FMR1 gene, Fragile X can affect learning, communication, behavior, and social interaction, with each person experiencing unique strengths and support needs.
Awareness is about more than understanding a diagnosis—it's about recognizing the talents, contributions, and potential of individuals with Fragile X syndrome. Early intervention, access to services, and inclusive communities can make a meaningful difference in helping people thrive.
At InCommunity, we are committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they live, learn, work, and connect in their communities.
This July, we join families, advocates, and organizations in raising awareness and promoting inclusion for all.
Together, we can create communities where everyone belongs.
